Girl Scout Over Night

A mini van full of happy girls (well most everyone was happy)...
leads to some fun at a put-put golf stop in Lincoln City...
Girl Scout Promise and Law

The Girl Scout Promise and Law are shared by every member of Girl Scouting. The Girl Scout Promise is the way Girl Scouts agree to act every day toward one another and other people, and the Law outlines a way to act towards one another and the world.

Then it's time for an overnight at the Girl Scout Hut in Newport.

The Girl Scout Promise
"On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law"

The Girl Scout Law

"I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout."

The girls did some cooking, cleaning, dancing and sightseeing along the Oregon Coast. It was a beautiful adventure with all these lovely young ladies.

Oh how we love our Little Girl Scout.
We are so proud of you Ms. Makayla Brooke Totten

Tell us all about your journey into the world of photography. When did you realize that this is what you wanted to do and why. I have always loved photography. My mother was a compulsive shutter bug and I think it's somewhat inbred. The day I realized that my passion for photography was over the top, was a Spring evening in 2005. I was at my husbands Softball game, but instead of cheering him on I wandered to the playground nearby and the next thing new I was slyly following children around and capturing images of them at play. It was official I had become a stalker!

The Wonders of it All...

This past weekend I was able to "tag-along" on a Girl Scout over night to the Oregon Coast with my daughters troop. We had a wonderful time exploring and just being girls! As a final outing before heading home, we were able to get up close and personal with some fascinating sea creatures. These are the images I would like to share for Through the Lens of Worship, this week. As a child, I remember seeing things like this, saying "Huh- pretty cool" then quickly moving on to the next best thing. Wow- not this time... The colors, the shapes, forms, textures, uniqueness and beauty of it all, made me linge. I was in absolute Awe! Awe of the power and awesomeness of God and all He has created. I enjoyed taking picstures of all the vibrant colors before me and even got to touch some too!

"The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths." Psalm 135:6

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" Revelation 5:13

"Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made a road in the depths of the sea so that the redeemed might cross over?" Isaiah 51:10

"You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea." Micah 7:19
