PreSchool Open House

Our youngest is a big boy now!

Watch out 3 year old's here comes LUKE!

Luke's First Day of Preschool

Luke's Take on PreSchool / The Interview

Here is a little clip that will fill you in on how our little man faced his first day of school September 9th and how he felt about it when he got home. Lets just say that the attitude at the end is not typical and surely must have been caused do to the excitement of the day! :) Be sure to pause the music player before viewing, so you can here Luke's every word!

Luke was more than ready to start preschool. He is 3 and thrilled to own his very own backpack! He loves being dropped off three mornings a week and does it with ease, hugs or high fives and a smile. As a full time mom, I am also thrilled to have a few hours on my own for the first time in a long time. Don't get me wrong I LOVE MY KIDS. I am happy that they are happy and are able to spread their wings a little, have some fun, learning, growth and Independence outside of my influence. I had twinges of sadness as we journeyed closer to another phase of parenting, loving and letting go a little more. Both kids made it easy on me, as they each love school so much and I am able to leave happy, smiling kids as I drive away.

Motherhood

This is for all you beautiful mommies out there!
MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche; they don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of carpets.
Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up.
Real Mothers sometimes ask "Why me?" and get their answer when a little voice says, "Because I love you best."
Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade...It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...

The Images of Mother - At every stage and age

0-3 - My Mommy is everything to me!

4 - My Mommy can do anything!

8 - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!

12 - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.

14 - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.

16 - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.

18 - That old woman? She's way out of date!

25 - Well, she might know a little bit about it

35 - Before we decide, let's get Mom' s opinion.

45 - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?

65 - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Makayla's a First Grader!

Makayla had a fabulous summer but was more than ready to start 1st grade. She even got the teacher she was hoping for.

She had a bit of a rough start and missed the first official day of school (Sept. 2nd), because of a high fever. This was very difficult for our little Ms. Social! Now we are off and running and back to lugging packpacks and packing lunches!

Makayla we hope you have a wonderful year and remember as we always try to remind you..

"Be a Blessing."

Growing Up!

It's so much fun to watch kids grow.

This set of siblings belongs to my close friend and old roommate Amber. It's hard to believe that this young man was just a wee infant when he attended our wedding some 13 years ago. Just look at him now with his beautiful sister and lovely Mama.
