A DAY IN THE LIFE

Yesterday, while trying to load up to take Makayla to school, the kids had other idea's. Now that the leaves have fallen from the tree, we see just how high she has been climbing. And yes, Tom Boys do wear dresses! It won't be long till little brother follows suite, for now he just plays allot of "Momma you can't catch me!"

DOCUMENTING THE DETAILS

What a joy - my little boy! I took this series a few months back while trying to put into practice some tips I had learned from Me Ra Koh's blog. I submitted them as sample work and low and behold if Me Ra didn't put one up on her blog http://www.merakohblog.com/page/5/ and now my little boys face also graces a place on the insert pamphlet of Me Ra's new DVD Series called Documenting a child's life, Refuse to say cheese and Beyond the green box. To say the least I feel honored and encouraged. Thanks Me Ra...What Fun! This is what Me Ra had to say about the first picture of Luke below. "Here’s our first submission. She caught this photo after watching this exercise on capturing details that I posted on the blog. Thanks for sharing Kim! You’re AWESOME! I love his hat, overalls and the little wheels of the train! So perfect!

THANKFUL REFLECTIONS

What a whirlwind of a week. The kids, dogs and I traveled to see grandma and grandpa up in the San Juan Islands for Thanksgiving . The plan was that Scott and my sister would join up with us in a few days. Turns out both kids and Scott got the flu. Scott was all alone for Thanksgiving because he was in no shape to travel. My folks, sister and the kids had a lovely candle lit dinner on the farm only to be interrupted by Makayla getting sick within moments of leaving the table. Both kids where such troopers while deeling with the "Hepazutti" (that's what we call being sick in our family). Luke got hit the hardest. Poor little guy looked at me as if to say ,"Mommy what in the world is happening to me?"I can't believe I didn't catch it. We all missed daddy a whole lot and it was wonderful to get back home. My immediate family is feeling better but I am afraid that we left a wake of sickness behind us. Sorry mom and dad. Another highlight of the trip was a visit we made to see my grandmother. Great-Grandma Patty is in a care facility and is in the late stages of Alzheimer's. We were blessed by her smile many times over and got the sense that she new it was us. I will forever be grateful for her humor and loving spirit. To look in her eyes and sence her love was a tremendous gift. It was a precious yet bitter sweet moment to whisper words of thanksgiving to my grandma. I will never forget the look in her eyes and the grin on her face.

THE REVOLVE TOUR!

The Revolve Tour Inside Out! The 2007-2008 Event for Teen Girls from Women of Faith...
What a blast. We took 10 youth girls to this incredible concert last weekend. Who ever thinks Christianity is boring really needs to attend an event like this. So much passion, talent and praise to our God. Several girls in our group heard the message of Christ in such a new and fresh way.

QUEST...JUNIOR HIGH RETREAT!

Wow, I was shocked to see how these pictures tell a story of fun times had by teens. It's nice to see that between all the chaos, confusion and heart ache some of these kids created they actually had a good time.

Time for Paintball!

Ever been Blobbing?

This is a continuation of the Youth Retreat fun and games. In the middle of November some youth and leaders had enough nerve to go for a blob! A blob is just that, a huge blob floating in the lake that you jump down onto from a high dive, then crawl out on to then be launched like a rocket. Pretty fun to watch and no I have never been Blobbing, I leave that to my husband!

Takumi

Takumi is an exchange student from Japan. We had a blast doing this shoot. Takumi never in his life had been asked to model and as you can see he ate it up and was a natural. He told me that in Japan you usually get one picture taken fro your Senior Portrait and that is it. I think he felt like a celebrity!!!
